“Pskov Sailing Regatta” is an open non-profit competition held in the interests of the participants. All funds received from partners are spent on preparing and holding competitions, rewarding participants and are not a source of profit.
The goals of the annual Pskov Sailing Regatta are to popularize and develop sailing, improve the skills of athletes and determine the strongest among them, attract the attention of wide circles of Russian and international yachting, as well as attract young people to sailing.
“The unique water area of Pskov lake, the geographical location and historical and cultural potential of the Pskov region, the support of the Russian Sailing Federation, the Bank of Russia, regional and federal authorities, the charity of the business community, the enthusiasm of the organizers and yachtsmen — this is the basis for the success of past regattas and an encouraging prospect for the upcoming ones competitions.”
“Based on “Victoria who was on Chudskoe lake”. Where Prince Alexander Nevsky stopped the western expansion of the “Latins” into Rus’ in 1242 — on the Neva and Chudskoe lake — this is where Peter the Great began in 1704: Chudskoe lake — Gangut — Bornholm. Not victory for the sake of victory, but victory for the sake of free relationships among peoples and states.
Ancient cultural and historical holies and maritime traditions of sailing strengthen the strength of the spiritual foundation of our land. The basis for the success of a good deed is the interaction of like-minded people.”
“Sailing means constantly being in the air, on the water, combining loads and mastery of mechanisms. Those who come to sailing schools usually stay in this sport forever. Of course, the Pskov Sailing Regatta is a bright event, a brand of the region. But the most important thing is that by doing this we are trying to draw attention to our sailing school, so that both the authorities and patrons of the arts will pay attention to it. This is a great and useful thing for the country, besides, it is an Olympic sport, and the Soviet school was one of its legislators.”
