World 'Micro' Championship in Pskov, Russia

From June 11 to June 19, 2016, the 40th World Sailing Championship in the Micro yacht class will take place on Pskov lake as part of the 13th Pskov Sailing Regatta.

 

The World Championship baton was passed from the city of Brest (France) by the President of the International Association of the Micro Yacht Class, Philippe Benaben. He said that within a week more than 200 yachtsmen from Eastern Europe and Asia would compete on Pskov lake for the title of the best.

45 crews from ten countries registered for the competition. In accordance with normal practice, we can expect 55-60 teams, the main number of which are representatives of France, Poland, Latvia, Germany and Russia. In addition, athletes from Italy, Lithuania, Estonia, Slovakia and Kazakhstan entered. Athletes from countries that do not have official representation in the IMCCA, such as Finland and Belarus, are also expected.
